Our cozy three bedroom cottage is available for the month of October -- peak season in Shenandoah! It is perfectly situated -- 10 minutes north of Sperryville on a quiet, dead-end gravel road that borders Shenandoah National Park. The house fronts on the Thornton River, and you can walk out the front door to trails in the Park. Only 12 miles from Skyline Drive by car, and just half an hour to the Old Rag trailhead. Watch the changing leaves and listen to the river from our screened-in porch, snuggle up in front of the gas stove, or enjoy crisp fall nights from the fire pit. Activities include walking along the flat riverfront trail, hiking further into the Park, trout fishing down the road at Skyline Trout Farm ( exploring Sperryville's tasty restaurants, breweries, shops, and gold course ( and beautiful Rappahannock County ( including vineyards and the two-Michelin-Star restaurant, the Inn at Little Washington (
The cottage has two bedrooms with queen size beds, and one with a twin bed. It has a full kitchen, dining room, family room, front parlor, deck, screened-in-porch, laundry, and bathroom. There is also a separate guesthouse, with a queen bed and set of twin bunk beds. All bedrooms have very comfortable new mattresses. This is a chance to fully escape, and while there is a landline phone, there is no cellphone service or internet in the house. (You can access WiFi at several locations in Sperryville, including at the delightful wine and espresso bar).
While we usually enjoy the house ourselves, we are unable to use it in October, and would love to make it available to others to enjoy. Rent is $2750 for the month of October, including all utilities. We have some flexibility in start and end dates, but the lease term must be at least 30 days.
