Wonderful villa with private pool and sauna
At the end of the nineteenth century, Villa Boschi Salviati was known as "Poggio Canterino" (House of Singing) on account of the nightingales living around it. The property is situated amongst the beautiful Tuscan hills, surrounded by its own vineyards and woodlands of larch and oak, amounting to a total of 6000 m² of parkland. The visitor can enjoy spectacular views over the sunflower fields of the Val di Chiana, offering glimpses of Monte Amiata in the distance.
To care for the environment, an ecological solution was a natural choice. Indeed, the whole building is self-sufficient, both in terms of electricity, provided by two photovoltaic systems mounted on the wooden roofs, and for its water, which comes from a well. The villa has been lovingly renovated throughout, making use of traditional Tuscan materials: all the floors are covered in locally-produced cotta tiles, while the ceilings are supported by wooden beams. The rooms are furnished with carefully restored antique furniture.
The fitted kitchen is equipped with all modern facilities, while a barbecue is provided for guests to prepare their own "bistecca fiorentina": the typical local beefsteak. The spacious dining-room has a large fireplace at one end, used for cooking in the old days, and the place where the whole household used to gather in the evenings.
The house can sleep up to twelve people, in double and twin-bedded rooms with bath, equipped with hairdryers, air-conditioning and 32" LED televisions, and decorated with delightful frescoes. The beautiful finishes, including the screen-printed mirrors and hand-made curtains help to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, conducive to a relaxing and comfortable stay.
Our guests have the use of a beautiful swimming pool in the grounds of the estate. It is accompanied by a chromo-therapy facility and solarium, Finnish sauna for 2 to 3 people and hydro-massage bath to seat 6 which affords a wonderful view over the valley.
There is a delightful, fully equipped terrace where guests can sit and eat in the evening, or relax and enjoy the glorious views over the vineyards, especially as the sun is going down.
The villa is also equipped with an outside barbecue and a laundry-room with washing-machine in a wooden outhouse next to the fence.
For countryside-lovers, there are many opportunities for walks in the nearby woodland, and in the appropriate season you can go in search of delicious wild mushrooms.
On the other hand, those who prefer relaxing on the sofa can enjoy the luxury of satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet in every room.
For those who love horse riding and sport fishing, less than 4 km from Boschi Salviati there is a horse riding and fishing center equipped. It is also possible to rent "vespa" scooters to travel and discover the Tuscan hills in the surroundings.Tastings of wines and local products are possible at the adjacent San Luciano winery. A little more than 4 km is the center of the village with typical restaurants and supermarkets. The structure is located in the countryside, but close to fast roads, which allow you to reach Florence, Siena and Perugia in an hour.
