Summary:
With lovely polished floorboards throughout, this spacious 2-storey house features 2 living areas and a private rear courtyard with banquette seating, alfresco dining and a play area for children. For guests with toddlers, the house also offers indoor safety gates. It’s only a 15 minute walk to Coogee Beach, as well as shops and eateries of Arden Street. The house comes with off-street parking, while also being close to public transport options.
The Space:
Upon entering the house’s ground floor level, the first living area you’ll come to has a comfy L-shaped modular lounge suite and large flat screen ‘smart’ TV - but a little further into the house, there’s a second living area that’s part of an open-plan lounge/dining room, offering a table for 6 people, an L-shaped sofa and a gas fireplace to keep you warm in the cooler months. This open-plan space flows through to a kitchen with caesar stone benchtops and a couple of barstools so it can be used as a breakfast bar, a Miele 5-burner gas cooktop, oven and confection oven, a Miele dishwasher and a family sized side-by-side fridge. A ‘European’ style laundry cupboard houses a washing machine. Bi-fold doors off the kitchen open up to a tiled rear courtyard with outdoor U-shaped banquette cushioned seating, an oval wooden table, a Weber gas barbecue and lots of potted plants. A few steps take you up a ‘lawn’ area, which is actually realistic-looking astro-turf, a great playing area for children. Back inside the house, this ground floor level also offers a bedroom by the entrance with a queen-sized bed, plantation shutters to control the light flow and plenty of wardrobe space The downstairs bathroom comes with a roomy frameless glass shower recess and separate bathtub.
Upstairs, you’ll find 2 more bedrooms, both with queen-sized beds, plantation shutters and ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom comes with wall-mounted reverse-cycle air con and an alcove with a table that can be used as an office/study space. There’s also a ‘Juliet’ balcony that overlooks the back yard. The master bedroom’s ensuite has a frameless glass shower recess, its own separate bath tub and a heated towel rack, while the second bedroom’s ensuite has its own frameless glass shower recess.
Note: there are child safety gates at the bottom and top of stairs for peace of mind if you have toddlers with you.
The Neighborhood:
Just south of Bondi on the coast, Coogee has a beautiful beach in its own right which is only a 15 minute stroll from the house, along with a variety of shops, bars and eateries to suit any budget. Be sure to check out Sydney’s iconic ‘Wylie Baths’ on the south end of the beach, a heritage listed sea pool established in 1907. The long-standing Coogee Bay Hotel (open since 1873) is also 15 minutes away on foot, offering pub meals, live music, an outdoor courtyard and sport’s bar. Bondi Junction, one of Sydney’s major shopping, restaurant and transport hubs is a short drive away.
Getting Around:
The house comes with off-street parking, but there are also bus services nearby which will deliver you into Bondi Junction in under 30 minutes, one of Sydney’s major transport and shopping hubs. Some buses continue on to the CBD (Downtown) or Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, otherwise Bondi Junction offers connecting bus and train services to virtually anywhere you want to go in Sydney
